Baby of Varsha Kiran Pawar is a newborn baby girl, just a few days old, who is fighting a very difficult battle for survival. She was born with a low birth weight of only 1.724 kg and soon after birth developed serious medical complications. Due to her fragile condition, she had to be admitted to the NICU at Nimai’s Borneo Mother & Child Care Hospital, Nashik.
Doctors have diagnosed her with Meconium Aspiration Syndrome, Duodenal Atresia, and Neonatal Sepsis. These are critical and life-threatening conditions in a newborn. She needs continuous NICU care, strong medicines, respiratory support, and a major surgery to correct the intestinal blockage. Doctors have advised an extended NICU stay of nearly 20 days to stabilize her condition and save her life.
Every day in the NICU is crucial for her survival.
Family Background
The baby belongs to a financially weak family. Her father is the only earning member and works on daily wages, which is barely enough to manage basic household needs. Her mother is a homemaker and is constantly by her side at the hospital, praying for her child’s recovery.
The sudden medical emergency has left the family emotionally shattered and financially helpless. Baby of Varsha Kiran Pawar, an 18-day-old newborn, is currently admitted to Nimai’s Borneo Mother & Child Care Hospital, Nashik, and is receiving intensive treatment in the NICU. The baby has been diagnosed with Meconium Aspiration Syndrome, Duodenal Atresia, and Neonatal Sepsis, with a birth weight of 1.724 kg indicating low birth weight. At present, the baby is stable and maintaining normal oxygen levels, pulse, and respiration, and oxygen saturation is being maintained on room air. Feeding is being introduced gradually and is being tolerated under strict medical supervision. The baby is under continuous NICU monitoring and is receiving IV fluids, gradual feeds as tolerated, IV antibiotics, and antifungal treatment for infection control, along with supportive medicines and regular pediatric and surgical reviews. Doctors have advised that the baby should remain in the NICU for around 20 days, during which continuous monitoring of infection control and feeding tolerance will continue, and further medical or surgical decisions will be taken based on the baby’s recovery and overall stability.
